Project: Chatswood Library, NSW | System: 150 Beam
The Concourse is the new Civic Centre in Sydney’s North Shore suburb, which is only a 10-minute journey from the CBD. Willoughby City Council commissioned new designs to replace the old civic centre, which had been in use for 100 years. The new cultural complex was designed by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp architects where the design evolved from a collaborative process with Council and its key user groups, stakeholders and wider community.
In addition to the 5,000m2 library, the impressive new hub at Chatswood features a large public open space, a 500-seat theatre, rehearsal spaces, a 1,000-seat concert hall, cafés, retail and commercial outlets, a boutique hotel and a multi-purpose exhibition hall.
For the redevelopment of the library Vision Design were engaged to create the lighting design with KLIK Systems supplying all of the linear lighting for this project by adding the required lighting levels along with a sleek and contemporary aesthetic.
